Dear friends,
Chezi Goldberg was a friend of mine, and helped my family professionally.
His loss is deeply felt in the teens-at- risk world, as a family
counselor, an agent for community change, and as a husband and father
of seven. His siblings seek to expose the evil that threatens us and
change the tune of the media. His sister Carrie is therefore
dropping her professional work and going to stand by the bus in which
her brother was killed. If you have media contacts please alert them,
as it can be a powerful statement with photo-op sad, isnt
it? I believe it is valuable to share this response with students
as well. Please use the press release below as you see fit.
Thank you.
May we all rise to the historic
challenge we find ourselves in, and see peace for Israel, our people,
and the world.
Shabbat Shalom and Chodesh tov, Meshe Nichnas Adar Marbim beSimcha

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 18, 2004
American Sister of Terror Victim to Speak at the Hague
Washington, DC Yechezkel Goldberg, 41, was murdered
by a bomb murderer as he was a passenger on Bus 19 in Israel on January
29, 2004. Yechezkel, a social worker who focused his practice
on at-risk youth around the world is survived by his wife,
and 7 children ages 1 through 16 years old. Washington, D.C., photojournalist
Carrie Devorah, sister of Yechezkel Goldberg, will travel to the Netherlands
on behalf of her family and the countless other families whose lives
have been traumatized by the senseless proliferation of murder bombings.
The remains of Bus 19 are being transported to the Hague and will be on display in a plaza across the street from the International Court of Justice. The ICJ is set to hold hearings on the legality of Israels plan
to establish a West Bank security barrier on February 23.
There seems to be a whiff of complacency on the international scene when it comes to world leaders condemning the acts of bomb murderers, said Ms. Devorah. Ali Jaraah, the bomb murderer that blew up Bus Number 19, intended to kill innocent civilians. Jaraahs actions were not a political statement. It was cold blooded murder, added Devorah. Those killed were not collateral damage of a political struggle. They were our neighbors, our friends, our family, and now they are gone for no good reason.
Bombing murders are not isolated to Israel. Three weeks ago, it was a bus in Israel, a week later it was commuters in Russia, followed by a similar attack in Baghdad, added Devorah. The leaders of the world are past due in universally condemning such attacks on civilians. As my late brother said: Because, if you dont cry, who will?
